Tebuireng Science Middle School Holds Isra Mikraj Commemoration, Pak Sholah Invites Students to Have a Rice Mentality

Tebuireng.online– Tebuireng Science Middle School held a commemoration of the Isra Miraj of the Prophet Muhammad SAW with the theme “Make Prayer a Shield for Yourself and a Means of Achieving Achievement”, Thursday (22/1/2026). This event was attended by the board of directors, the Head of Science Middle School, the Head of Trensains High School, as well as all the teachers, supervisors and students of Tebuireng Science Middle School.

Present as the main speaker, KH M. Sholahudin, M.Pd., started the mauidzah hasanah by educating the students about the order of the months in the Hijri calendar and the names of days in the Islamic tradition.

In his tausiyah, the former Head of Madrasah Aliyah Syafiiyah Sebuireng (MASS) touched on the topic of doomsday. He explained that the doomsday is believed to occur in the month of Muharram, although the exact time is a secret from Allah SWT.

“In the Al-Qur’an there are many verses that explain that the world we are standing on will meet its limits, such as in Surah Al-Waqi’ah and Al-Zalzalah. As believers, we are obliged to believe and believe in it,” said Pak Sholah, his nickname.

He also displayed the glory of the month of Muharram as the month of victory for the Prophets. In this month, Allah saved Prophet Nuh AS from a big flood, helped Prophet Musa AS from being chased by Pharaoh, until the time of revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW arrived.

Furthermore, Mr. Sholah reviewed the special features of the month of Rajab as the momentum for the Isra Mikraj event. According to him, the fundamental lesson from this incident is the arrangement of the quality of worship, especially prayer.

“The biggest lesson from Isra Mikraj is how we organize the quality of our worship. Qad aflaha al-mu’minun, the success of a believer is largely determined by his prayers,” he stressed.

To illustrate the urgency of solemnity, Pak Sholah told the story of Sayyidina Ali bin Abi Talib who remained calm when the spear was removed from his body because he was so solemn in his prayers. “Meanwhile, even if we get bitten by a mosquito, it’s incredibly frustrating,” he joked, which was greeted with laughter from the congregation.

Aliyah’s senior teacher also emphasized that achievement is not merely the result of human intelligence, but rather the gift of Allah SWT. He reminded us that worldly achievements should not distance a person from the Creator.

“Achievement is a gift from God. Humans can have plans, they can try, but destiny belongs to God. Don’t feel that all the power and blessings are yours,” he stressed.

He analogized humans to rice, namely that the fuller they are, the more they should bend. He warned of the dangers of istidraj, where someone feels smart but actually becomes further away from Allah.

Closing his tausiyah, Pak Sholah advised the students to always maintain the practice of sunnah prayers as the key to success in this world and the hereafter.

“If you want to be successful, don’t leave out the Tahajjud prayer, the Fajr prayer and the Duha prayer. Prayer is a medium for our mikraj, and the first thing to ask before Allah is prayer,” he concluded.

The series of Isra Mikraj commemoration activities ended with a prayer led by KH Agus Abdul Mughni.
