At-Tibyan Book Review Colors Isra Mi’raj Commemoration at A. Wahid Hasyim High School

Wahid Hasyim High School held a commemoration of the Isra Mi’raj of the Prophet Muhammad SAW with the theme “Actualization of Prophetic Values ​​in Islamic Boarding School Education Traditions”. on Monday (19/1/2026). The activity, which took place on the A. Wahid Hasyim High School basketball court, was attended by around 730 students and approximately 30 teachers and staff. All students seemed enthusiastic about taking part in the series of events which this year were packaged differently from previous years.

This Isra Mi’raj commemoration was held in conjunction with a book review At-Tibyan the work of KH. Hasyim Asy’ari. The combination of these two activities is a special attraction because it is not only religious ceremonial, but also strengthens the Islamic boarding school book literacy tradition in the school environment.

The chairman of the committee, Keymas Nazif Elfada, a class XI-3 student, explained that the book review was held at the same time as Isra Mi’raj commemoration based on the committee’s agreement.

“Initially, this book review was planned to coincide with the school’s anniversary. “However, because the Anniversary was only held for one day, in the end the book discussion was shifted to today’s Isra Mi’raj moment,” he explained.

He also explained that preparations for the event had started since early January. “Preparations start from making proposals to borrowing equipment. “Since January 5, we have started preparations,” he said.

Keymas said he was grateful that the activities could run smoothly according to plan. He also felt proud of the committee’s performance. “Alhamdulillah, the event went smoothly. “This year there are also differences, especially in the decoration concept which is different from previous years,” he said.

OSIS activity coordinator, Deffi Aprilia Susanti, S.Pd., said that this year’s Isra Mi’raj commemoration felt special because of the book review. He explained that the selection of books At-Tibyan is an initiative of the students.

“This year Isra Mi’raj at A. Wahid Hasyim High School is different because it is accompanied by a book discussion. The book chosen is At-Tibyan the work of KH. Hasyim Asy’ari and this is an initiative of the children themselves,” he said.

He hopes that students can take lessons from the contents of the book, especially the values ​​of brotherhood. “Hopefully children can take lessons from this book, especially about brotherhood,” he added.

Meanwhile, the A. Wahid Hasyim High School Devotion Coordinator, Ustadz Liham Hasan, said that this activity also aims to introduce the works of KH. Hasyim Asy’ari to the students.

“One of the aims of this event is to introduce books written by Mbah Hasyim to students, such as At-Tibyan which discusses brotherhood,” he explained.

He added that even though the material in the book is not directly related to the events of Isra Mi’raj, the values ​​in it are still relevant. “Even though it is not directly related to the theme of Isra Mi’raj, this material will be interspersed with relevant explanations by Ustadz Agus Maulana,” he said.

The principal of A. Wahid Hasyim High School, Djoko Suwono, in his speech expressed his appreciation for holding this activity. He said he was proud to see the readiness of the committee and the concept of the event which prioritized scientific values.

“This activity went well. “After Dhuha prayers yesterday I saw that there was already material about Isra Mi’raj, and that made me proud,” he said.

He also emphasized the importance of book literacy activities in the school environment. “This is a scientific activity, a book literacy activity by KH. Hasyim Asy’ari. The meaning of the book At-Tibyan “Hopefully this can be applied in everyday life,” he continued.

At the end of his speech, he congratulated the entire committee. “Congratulations to the committee who have successfully carried out this activity, including the Kubahireng team who always support every school event,” he concluded.
