We Who Survive
We wake up in the morning with a simple prayer
so that today is enough
enough to eat
strong enough
just be patient

we work under the sun
behind the desk
in the rice field
on the street
with wages that are often unequal

we don’t hate this country
precisely because of love
we survive

even though I’m tired
although often not heard

we want to live in peace
without fear of tomorrow
without having to choose
between eating or surviving

The Country We Love
We love you without cheers
without stage
without promises

we love you by paying taxes
with long queues
obediently despite being disappointed

we don’t ask for luxury
we just want to be fair
want to feel seen
want to live a decent life in their own home

country
Do not take it wrong
if we complain
it’s because of love
not because of hate

Prayers for people who don’t make the news
Oh Lord
we are not good at talking
has no power
just have hope

making this country a safe place to come home to
not an endlessly tired field
not a dream that is always postponed

we want our children to grow up without fear
want to grow old without worry
want to live without doubt

if our voices are small
Please listen
because it’s in our chests

love for this country
never small
