Tebuireng.online- The Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School Turats Team once again made a friendly visit (sowan) with the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School Caregiver, KH. Abdul Hakim Machfudz (Gus Kikin), on Saturday, November 8 2025. This visit aims to report research developments and results of searches for heritage manuscripts Hadratusshaikh KH Hasyim Asy’ari.

KH. Ahmad Roziqi, as the team coordinator, reported that some of the books resulting from tahqiq (manuscript verification/research) had been printed on a limited basis while waiting for Kiai Kikin’s direction for the next printing. The team also said that Hasyimian had published an anthology.

Apart from that, the representative of the Aswaja Center Tebuireng, Ust. Malik also conveyed the achievements of the program which has now reached the national level.

“Training based on Adabul ‘Alim wal Muta’allim has been running for 13 classes. We also found that people outside the Islamic boarding school have a high interest in Aswaja books and studies,” said Mr. Malik.

In the field report, researcher Ust. Viki reports search results in Gresik which contain a lot of important data. The team also found a number of practice records such as the Ayat Kursi which was explicitly attributed to Hadratussyaikh KH. Hasyim Asy’ari, practiced every morning and evening, and accompanied by ziyādāt ta’liqāt spread across various regions.

“Many areas have scripts ziyādāt ta’liqāt“possibly because at that time these texts were part of the spirit of defending Nahdlatul Ulama,” explained Ilham, one of the researchers.

The Turats team also found several differences in versions between the old and new printings of the book Tibyan.

“When we asked Yai Junaidi and Gus Jamil, we found that there was a missing part in the new print. It is possible that this difference arose because there was no original manuscript,” said Ust. Viki.

Responding to this report, Kiai Kikin emphasized the importance of maintaining the principles of salaf and scientific sanad in every development of science in Islamic boarding schools.

“In the case of Aswaja, don’t let us get carried away by the current of modernization. Salaf is the foundation. Like a kite, its string remains connected to the scientific realm,” he advised.

The chairman of PWNU East Java also reminded that Hadratussyaikh KH. Hasyim Asy’ari not only built religious thought, but also the social structure of Islam, such as through the idea of the Marriage Ordinance and the establishment of MIAI (Indonesian A’laa Islamic Council).

This meeting also discussed plans for a follow-up tahqiq book, launching research results, and developing the Turats Tebuireng website. KH. Abdul Hakim Machfudz closed the meeting with the statement, “We are very fortunate to have a lot of literature left by Hadratussyaikh whose scientific knowledge is clear and well maintained. The world is now paying attention to Tebuireng.”

The meeting ended with a joint prayer and commitment to continue exploring, practicing tahqiq, and spreading the knowledge of Hadratussyaikh KH. Hasyim Asy’ari.
