Strengthening Scientific Sanad, 225 Santri Tebuireng 8 Banten Pilgrimage to Tebuireng Jombang

Tebuireng.online—The Tebuireng 8 Banten Foundation made a visit to the Tebuireng Jombang Islamic Boarding School in the context of a pilgrimage and scientific connection between the administrators and students of the Tebuireng 8 Banten Islamic Boarding School and the central Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School. This activity was held on Friday (19/12/2025) and began with a pilgrimage to Maqbarah Tebuireng, followed by a friendly gathering with the community.

This group of 225 people was led directly by KH. Ahmad Qizwini as Head of the Tebuireng 8 Banten Foundation. Also included in the group were the homecoming students, asatidz and asatidzah, parents of students, as well as new students of Pesantren Tebuireng 8 Banten.

A gathering with the people of the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School was held in the Yusuf Hasyim Hall on the third floor after Friday prayers. From the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, present was Mudir I Ir. H. Abdul Ghofar, Mudir III H. Lukman Hakim, Mudir IV H. Abdul Mughni who represented the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School caretakers who were unable to attend, as well as several Tebuireng dzurriyah. The event then continued with speeches.

In his speech, KH. Ahmad Qizwini expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the reception from the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School towards the Tebuireng 8 Banten group. He explained that this activity was an annual agenda aimed at introducing new students from Tebuireng 8 Banten to the Tebuireng Jombang Islamic Boarding School as a scientific research center.

“We carry out this sanad connection activity in the first semester so that the students know the genealogy of the Tebuireng community before studying in more depth. That way, they understand where the knowledge comes from,” he explained.

According to him, sambung sanad is also a means of introducing the central Tebuireng teaching system so that it can be transformed in Tebuireng 8 Banten. The hope is that the students of Tebuireng 8 Banten will be able to grow into successful individuals and have a positive influence on society.

“The results of today’s Islamic boarding school certainly cannot be separated from the blessings and knowledge of the community. Hopefully we will all receive blessings as Tebuireng students and Allah will make it easier for us to enter society,” said KH. Qizwini.

The next speech was delivered by H. Abdul Mughni. He emphasized that students do not need to be discouraged by their background, because students can become anything. He gave the example of Gus Dur who went from the world of Islamic boarding schools to become President of the Republic of Indonesia.

“Santri are the relay for the struggle of the community. To be successful, there are several conditions that must be possessed, namely being patient, intelligent, not easily giving up, and willing to carry out the process over a long period of time,” he said.

Meanwhile, H. Lukman Hakim in his advice emphasized that the key to learning for students is a straight intention to seek Allah’s approval, accompanied by istiqamah and sincerity without worldly ambitions. According to him, Allah will determine a person’s future as long as his intentions are right.

“If you are sincere and honest, then practice knowledge. Practicing knowledge is a form of reverence. Students who want their knowledge to be blessed must be respectful of science experts,” said H. Lukman.

He also emphasized that the blessings of life will not be achieved without respect for parents and teachers. In fact, respect also applies to all parties who serve at the Islamic boarding school.

“Respect for the ulama, including the sweepers and kitchen ladies, because they are all willing to serve in the Islamic boarding school,” he added.

One of the Tebuireng 8 Banten students, Muhammad Fawwaz Adillah, admitted that this was his first visit to the Tebuireng Jombang Islamic Boarding School. He felt happy because he could get to know the figure of Hadratussyaikh KH more closely. Hasyim Asy’ari and his dzurriyah.

“I understand better that the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School not only educates students to understand religion, but also teaches human morals and ways of thinking forward,” he said.

The same thing was also conveyed by Yunus Ahmad Muzakkir who assessed that there were differences in the learning system between Tebuireng 8 Banten and central Tebuireng. In Tebuireng 8 Banten, the tahfidz and yellow book systems are combined in one activity, while in Tebuireng the learning center is differentiated through kitab, tahfidz and takhassus classes.

“From this friendship and pilgrimage, I was able to learn more about the genealogy of the Tebuireng community and feel the warm atmosphere when visiting the maqbarah directly,” he said.

It is known that the Tebuireng 8 Banten group arrived in Tebuireng on Thursday (18/12/2025) and spent the night at Ma’had Aly. The pilgrimage agenda was carried out the next day before the group continued their journey according to the predetermined schedule.
