Routine Koran Recitation and Chair Election Complete the Walisongo Jatim 5 Alumni Togetherness

Tebuireng.online— An atmosphere full of solemnity and togetherness colored the routine Koran activities of GKS IKAPWS Jatim 5 (Alumni Association of the Wali Songo Cukir Jombang Islamic Boarding School) which was held on Sunday (2/11/2025) at the Manbaul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, Bedanten, Bungah, Gresik.

This activity, which was attended by alumni from various regions including Gresik, Surabaya, Madura, Sidoarjo, and Pasuruan, became a gathering place as well as an important forum in continuing the leadership relay of the alumni organization.

On this occasion, the participants took part in a book study Mukhtarul Ahadith delivered by Drs. KH. Amir Jamiluddin, M.Pd. with great enthusiasm. The book, which contains a collection of selected hadiths, is a material for tadabbur and reflection for alumni to strengthen the moral and spiritual values ​​inherited by the members of the Wali Songo Cukir Jombang Islamic Boarding School.

This routine activity is also coupled with the election of the Chair of GKS IKAPWS East Java 5 for the period 2025–2030. The three candidates proposed represent each region, namely:

2. Mrs. Nyai Hj. Nur Faizah (Madura)
3. Nur Rochimah, S.Psi., MA (Gresik)

The election was carried out by deliberation and democracy by members present from the five regions. After the voting process was carried out, the final results showed the following results:

• Avia Nurdya’a, S.Pd. (Sidoarjo): 17 votes
• Mrs. Nyai Hj. Nur Faizah (Madura): 15 votes
• Nur Rochimah, S.Psi., MA (Gresik): 27 votes
• Invalid votes: 2 votes

With these results, Nur Rochimah, S.Psi., MA was officially elected as Chair of GKS IKAPWS East Java 5 for the 2025–2030 period, replacing the previous management.

In her speech, Nur Rochimah expressed her gratitude for the trust given by the alumni and was committed to continuing the spirit of togetherness and strengthening the role of Wali Songo alumni in society.

“This is not a personal victory, but a collective trust. Hopefully GKS IKAPWS Jatim 5 will become more solid and become a forum for alumni who are active in da’wah, social activities and strengthening Islamic boarding school values ​​in various regions,” he said.

Meanwhile, KH. Amir Jamiluddin in his tausiyah emphasized the importance of maintaining the tradition of knowledge and brotherhood among alumni. According to him, a forum like this is not just a meeting place, but also a space to strengthen scientific knowledge and renew the spirit of service to the people.

The event, which lasted until noon, ran smoothly and was full of intimacy, closing with a joint prayer and friendly gathering between alumni. This routine activity is also a momentum to strengthen relations between GKS regions, as well as strengthening the commitment of the alumni of the Wali Songo Islamic Boarding School in maintaining scientific traditions and Islamic preaching that are polite and have Islamic boarding school characteristics.

With the election of new management under the leadership of Nur Rochimah, S.Psi., MA, it is hoped that GKS IKAPWS Jatim 5 can continue to be a driving force for alumni activities that are productive, empowered and make a real contribution to society, in line with the spirit of the Islamic boarding school: knowledgeable, moral, and helpful.
