Results of MKKS Journalism Training, 5 Student Works Are Eligible to Be Posted on Radar Jombang

Tebuireng.online- The Jombang Regency Private Middle School Working Meeting of Principals (MKKS) held journalism training for private junior high school students throughout Jombang Regency, Monday (26/01/2026). This activity, which aims to encourage students’ writing skills, is centered in the A. Wahid Hasyim (AWH) Tebuireng Middle School Hall.

This event was attended directly by the Head of the Jombang Regency Education and Culture Service, Dra. Wor Windari, M.Si., Chair of MKKS H. Mochammad Yusuf, S.Ag., M.Pd., and Chair of the Committee and Head of AWH Middle School, Dwi Rahmat Siswoyo.

In his speech, Dra. Wor Windari expressed his appreciation for the writing talent of junior high school students in Jombang. He said this activity was part of the Education Department’s strategic program in the education sector.

Apart from motivating students to write, he also left a message for the younger generation to be wiser in using technology. “There are many positive things that can be gained from social media, but there are also negative impacts, so they need to be addressed wisely. Remain respectful of teachers and parents,” said Wor Windari.

Chairman of the Private Middle School MKKS, Mochammad Yusuf, emphasized that holding this big event was proof of the cohesiveness of the private school units in Jombang. He explained the three main benefits of studying journalism: sensitivity to the environment, a means of self-expression, and a medium for conveying the truth.

“Everyone can write, but good writing requires a process and learning. You have to be sure that every good piece of writing that you publish and people read will bring goodness,” explained Yusuf.

In line with this, Dwi Rahmat Siswoyo reminded participants to take the material seriously. The reason is, the committee has prepared special appreciation for the best works to be published in regional mass media.

The editor of Radar Jombang, Rojiful Mamduh, who was present as a speaker, explained that journalism has broad benefits beyond the journalist profession, namely increasing understanding in analyzing things. Rojif invites students to practice through three stages: summarizing daily lesson material, summarizing books, and writing activity news.

At the end of the session, five students with the best written works were selected to be published on Radar Jombang:

2. Valisya Nabila Ardlynata (A. Wahid Hasyim Tebuireng Middle School)
3. Galih Satrio Nugroho (Budi Utomo Middle School, Perak)
4. Hidayatun Nurul K. (SMPI Al-Ashfiya)
5. Sabrina Nur Shoofiyah (Al Hikmah Sumobito Middle School)

Sabrina Nur Shoofiyah, one of the winners, said she was proud of this achievement. “It feels really good to be able to make the school proud through the field of journalism,” he said. He achieved this achievement thanks to his persistence in participating in journalism extracurricular activities at his school.
