Pondok Putri Tebuireng Training Teacher Muwahhadah Method, KH. Mahmudin: Uniform tone is key

Tebuireng.online- For 2 days, Tuesday-Wednesday (23-24/09/0925), Pondok Putri Pesantren Tebuireng held a Muwahhadah method training for teachers, in the 3rd floor hall of Yusuf Hasyim Building. On the first day, KH. Mahmudin, one of the Jombang Regency MTQ judges who became the speaker, explained that the muwahhadah method focused on the uniformity of the song when reading the Qur’an. According to him, the most important thing is a uniform tone, while Muwahhadah is just a name. “Especially emphasized on uniform songs. Automatic tajwid, any method of Tajwid and Makharijul letters must be emphasized,” he explained.

Mahmudin also said that variations of tones and mad were very important. To create uniformity, he emphasized that Mad must have one reflection. “So, the variations, the tone, then the mad-mad, so like that, like the mad it must be one reflection, so that it can be uniform. Long, but there is a typical, one reflection,” he added.

KH. Mahmudin also said that one of the important conditions after the exact vocal tone was the pronunciation letters makharijul (where letters come out). Then when teaching basic tartil, Tempo does not need to rush. He used to practice the basic tartil teaching by starting from Juz 30, then proceed to Juz 1. “If I practice Juz Amma. After Juz Amma Juz 1,” he said.

He also said that the teacher needs to continue learning as a form of responsibility in educating students. According to him occasionally the teacher may punish students who are less focused, for example by asking to stand up, so that the students are truly focused when the teacher explains. In addition to the uniformity of songs, Mahmudin also stressed that reading the Qur’an requires a lot of practice. When interviewed he said the originator of this method was from the Madrasatul Quran, which aims to make the reading of the Qur’an become uniform.

On the second day it was filled with direct practice of the muwahhadah method so that teachers could immediately apply it. He also reminded that teachers often remind students, for example, how to read letters with Fathah harakat is to open the mouth.

According to him, the Qur’an will be the first assessment of the community when a santri returns to his hometown. This makes good mastery of the Qur’an a very important thing. “Moreover, the children of men are generally asked to be priests,” he said.

Furthermore, he hopes from what he has conveyed and the practice that has been carried out can be applied in the learning process of the Qur’an. “Our hope is that of course we can go in the future, for those who participate, they will learn together, can apply to their respective students,” he concluded.
